Slice bread with a serrated bread knife into 1/2 inch slices.
Add butter and olive oil to a microwave safe bowl and nuke for about 30 seconds or until melted.
Brush butter onto both side of bread with a pastry brush. Sprinkle with garlic salt and parsley flakes. If I am making garlic toast for a Cajun dish like Jambalya, I will also grind pepper on the bread slices.
Grill bread in a hot skillet or electric griddle for about 3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
